Affiliate Disclaimer

Hi everyone. I try and live my life with integrity, honesty, and openness and thus want to make sure its clear that some of the things I recommend on this blog are what are referred to as “affiliates”.

An affiliate is simply a product someone (like me) recommends. If the reader (that’s you) buys that product through that someone’s (hopefully my) website, the someone in question (again, me) gets a small commission payment in exchange for sending their customer to that product.

The commission comes from the product seller and does not increase the price you pay.  Thus it’s a win-win for you, me and the company selling the item. After all, if I hadn’t mentioned it to you, you might not have bought it

Also to be clear though, not everything I recommend is an affiliate product as I want to only recommend things I believe in and some of those things don’t offer an affiliate program.

My goal with the blog is to help educate you on the subjects we talk about and helping you will always be my top priority. Thus I promise the following:

  • I only recommend products that I use myself or that are products I have thoroughly checked out and would use if I needed a product like that
  • I only recommend what I consider to be the best out there, whether I get an affiliate commission or not.
  • If you try something I recommend and aren’t happy with it, please let me know! After all; products change, companies change and times change and what worked for me in 2012 may not be relevant for you in 2018. I guarantee I’ll investigate anytime an item doesn’t work as expected for you so I can reconsider recommending it.

Please note that, unless noted, I have not been given any free products, services or anything else by these companies in exchange for mentioning them on the sites. If I were to get offered that, I would try the product and if I genuinely liked it, then I would consider recommending it.

The only consideration I currently receive is in the form of affiliate commissions.

Generally speaking, I have used most of these things long before I became an affiliate, so I’m not out there trying things just so I can recommend them and then get a check. Occasionally I do recommend things I haven’t personally used IF someone I know and trust has endorsed it.

Specifically, when and where I may link to products on Amazon, they require me to state the following: “I am a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for us to earn fees by linking to Amazon.com and affiliated sites.”

If you have any questions regarding the above, please do not hesitate to contact me by using the contact page.

About sponsored posts – Occasionally I publish posts by guest authors and occasionally these may be sponsored posts where the writer is paying me for my time (in editing and formatting the post or in reviewing their product) and readership in exchange for publishing their post which may also link to their business.

The easiest way to identify a guest post where I was compensated is that they will be in the category of “Contributed post”.

As with anything else you see me mention, I like to only publish quality content and link to reputable businesses and that doesn’t change in the event I am being compensated. If you see a business linked you feel does not meet that test, please let me know.

Cheers!

Jeff
